The OES visited the Scioto Township District No. 2 School on October 18, 2002. Located on Snyder Road between Commercial Point and Orient, we stumbled upon this very well preserved schoolhouse while driving around. The school was built in 1888, serving many years educating the area’s youth. The building eventually ended up in private hands. The building was restored and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1987. We have not been able to find very much information on the school.
