Bucyrus
Northwood Estates – A trailer in this mobile home community was said to be haunted by a man who hanged himself in the bathroom. Lights would turn on and off on their own accord and some residents reported hearing voices when no one else was around. The trailer was removed in 2008 due to the reported paranormal activity.
Galion
Brownella Cottage – Brownella Cottage is one of the oldest houses in Galion, and as such, is said to be haunted. The ghost of a man roams the halls and frightens people. It is believed that he is the ghost of Bishop William Brown, who was removed from the church after revealing his agnostic beliefs. The bishop’s wife Ella is also said to haunt the cottage. She is often seen wearing a white dress on the stairs and in the turret bedroom on the second floor.
Train Depot – The old train depot is haunted by a man wearing a long overcoat and an “inhuman thing.” The activity usually occurs near a small second floor room called the coffin room. Ghostly trains can also be heard from time to time.
Olentangy
Dead Man’s Hollow – In 1836, Daniel Bender, his brother-in-law and two other men traveled west from Pennsylvania to start a new home in Crawford County. The two men came along with another intention, however…to rob and murder Daniel and his brother-in-law. The men attempted to do just that, robbing and killing Daniel, but his brother-in-law managed to escape. Daniel’s ghost is said to haunt the spot where he died. Horses will not tread near the area and Daniel’s ghost is said to give words of warning to passersby. He told one man who was taking his sick child to the doctor that the child wouldn’t survive…and he was correct.
New Washington
Union Cemetery – There is a tombstone with a woman’s photo on it in the cemetery. It is said that if you visit the cemetery late at night, you can see the woman’s facial expression change and the necklace move.
