Cox Mansion – Isaac Cox used to haunt the place himself when he died there soon after it had been built. He had the mansion constructed for his fiance, but she left him and they never married. The mansion was absolutely beautiful and enormous. He vowed that no one would ever live in the home, but some people did live there after his death. The mansion had a few other ghosts as well. A ghostly woman drifted down the staircase, playing a violin in stereotypical ghostly fashion. A headless horseman was frequently seen on the grounds. Organ music and a crying infant could sometimes be heard in the tower. The mansion burned to the ground years ago after some “hippies” bought it. They were burning coal in the fireplace when the house caught fire and burned down. (Credit: Ericka Gliwa)
